DSK Hyosung to launch a new motorcycle in India on January 16

Hyosung Motors which is present in India in partnership with DSK Motowheels will be adding another motorcycle to their four product portfolio on January 16. DSK Motowheels-Hyosung currently sells the GT650 R (faired), GT650 N (naked) and GT250 R sportsbikes along with the ST7 cruiser. The Korean motorcycle manufacturer entered India through a partnership with Pune based Garware Motors who set up a small facility in Wai near Pune to assemble Hyosungs. Later, Hyosung’s Indian operations changed hands and became a property of DSK Motowheels, another Pune based firm. After the acquisition, DSK Motowheels has announced that a new assembly plant is being considered which would enable future Hyosung bikes to have a better crack at the market with increased local content. The plant is expected to be operational by September this year and in the interim, DSK Hyosung is gearing up to launch a new bike this month. Indian Motos Blog has received a “Block Your Date” mail from Hyosung stating that the company would be extending its product portfolio on the 16th of January. While the mail does not give any clue about the product to be launched, we reckon that the Hyosung GT250 N would be coming in just like how GT650 N followed its faired sibling. The GT250 R is powered by a 250cc 75 degree V-twin engine which rears 28 horses and puts out 22.07 Nm of torque and the naked version of the bike is expected to have the same figures. The Hyosung GT250 N would lock its handle bars with the KTM Duke and the upcoming Mahindra Mojo. The GT250 N would bank on the extra power and a tempting price tag to negate the advantage of brand identity its rivals enjoy. [Image: HyosungmotorUSA.com ]
