Bajaj Pulsar 200 NS with Electronic Fuel Injection system on the anvil

Ever since its inception, the Bajaj Pulsar has been dictating the rules of the Indian performance bike segment. The bike crack opened the 150cc+ segment in India and never looked back. Pulsar single handedly revived the Bajaj brand which would have been lost in the oblivion had it not launched this motorcycle. The Pulsar 200 NS (Naked Sports) is the first major revision or more appropriately, the second generation of the cult. The 200 NS packs in a new and energetic street fighter design while taking the trademark DTS-i technology to a whole new league with the addition of the third spark plug. And the technical progress doesn’t stop there as Bajaj is all set to gift the bike with Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) system, as told by senior Bajaj officials on the sidelines of the launch of the new Discover 100T , yesterday afternoon in Pune. Fuel injected bikes are not a new thing to Bajaj as the Pune based bike maker had already offered it in the Pulsar 220 DTS-Fi. However the 220 DTS-Fi had a short lifespan and it was eventually replaced by its carburetted sister. The EFI system is expected to boost the Pulsar 200 NS’ appeal and satiate biking enthusiasts’ hunger for an instant, crisp throttle response. The system is expected to enable the triple spark, 4 valve, SOHC engine to produce a little more power than the current 23.5 bhp while reducing the fuel consumption, thanks to its fuel sipping qualities. The fuel injected Pulsar 200 NS will command a premium over the regular bike and it remains to be seen whether Bajaj will continue to sell the carburetted NS alongside or not. The launch should happen anytime from now. [Source: ]
