The South Korean two wheeler manufacturer Hyosung who is present in India though a partnership with DSK Motowheels is reportedly considering an entry level sports bike that could employ a 250cc single cylinder engine. Indiancarsbikes.in reports that the Hyosung’s new 250cc bike will be slotted below the GT250R and could be a global model catering to the burgeoning 250cc segment worldwide. DSK-Hyosung has an assembly plant at Wai in Maharastra which was taken over from Garware Motors, the former partners of Hyosung in India. However, DSK-Hyosung has announced that the construction of new assembly plant will start in March this year. The new 250cc motorcycle is expected to be brought to India in the form of CKD kits and assembled at the proposed facility. Details of the upcoming bike which is being developed at the company’s South Korean R&D center is very limited as of now. The Indian 250cc bike segment is already bustling with bikes like the Kawasaki Ninja, Honda CBR250R and Hyosung’s own GT250R. The contenders from the adjacent segments like the KTM Duke 200, Pulsar 200 NS could also prove to be viable rivals for the upcoming 250cc bike from Hyosung. Possibility of a 250cc bike from Yamaha stable in the next few years cannot be ruled out either. [Source: Indiancarsbikes.in ]
