The Mahindra group clearly wants to establish its name in all forms of mobility. Mahindra 2 Wheelers is just stepping up their game with more products waiting to be launched this year including the Mahindra Mojo. BSmotoring.com reports that the relatively new two wheeler manufacturer is mulling to announce their IPO (Initial Public Offering) so as to enable themselves to pursue their growth strategy. The Mahindra 2 Wheelers is an entity which was formed after the Mahindra group took over the Kinetic Motor’s business assets. The later still continues to hold 17% of the stake while the former owns 83% making it a privately owned company. Reports suggest the the announcement of IPO is to invest more in new product development, as much as Rs. 500 Crore will be spent on R&D over the span of five years. IPO could also facilitate Kinetic Motors exit. BSmotoring.com also reports that Mahindra 2 Wheelers is expected to launch at least three new variants of scooter and the Mahindra Mojo in 2013. Is to be noted that the company has just previewed the Pantero and Centuro 110 commuters . The current installed capacity of the company’s Pithampur plant stands at one million scooters and motorcyles per year which can be increased by about 50-70% without much of a capital investment. Mahindra expects its two wheeler wing to be as big as its tractor and utility vehicle business in the next seven years. A part of the plan includes exporting its Pantero and Centuro motorcycles to Asia, Africa and Latin America. [Source: BSmotoring.com ]
