Mahindra 2 Wheelers, the newest player in the vast Indian two wheeler market has started to make progress as the company witnesses a robust growth in its scooter sales. Mahindra is all set to increase the number of products in its portfolio, the company has recently unveiled the Mahindra Pantero and Centuro 110cc commuter bikes which will go sale in the months to come. The two wheeler maker also launched a no frills version of its Rodeo RZ scooter called Standard. The Rodeo RZ Standard makes do without the gimmicky digital instrument panel and also skimps on some features but retains the mechanicals. The scooter is powered by a 125cc engine which puts out 8 bhp of power. Mahindra 2 Wheelers has managed to achieve a cumulative sales figure of 92,143 units between April 2012 to January 2013. In January, the company sold 7,036 scooters. The Rodeo RZ Standard is expected to bring in more volumes in the coming months. “There is increasing preference amongst young, modern couples for our fully loaded, premium Mahindra Rodeo RZ scooter. To make the wonderful Rodeo RZ proposition accessible to more customers, we launched a more affordable variant, the Rodeo RZ Std., at a very attractive price.”, said Mr. Viren Popli, Executive Vice President – Strategy and Market Development, Mahindra Two Wheelers. Apart from the Panerto and Centuro twins, Mahindra is also expected to launch the Mahindra Mojo 300cc performance bike in the later part of this year.
