2013 Honda VTR250 and VTR250F sportsbikes unveiled in Japan

Honda has taken the wraps off the 2013 models of the VTR250 and the VTR250F sports bikes. Both the bikes carry a 250cc V-Twin motor at their bosom which generates 29 bhp of power and 22 Nm of torque. The engine breathes via 4 valves which are actuated by Double Over Head Camshafts (DOHC). The engine features fuel injection technology which is common among bikes in Japan. The motorbikes get the traditional telescopic front and monoshock rear suspension. Power is transferred to wheels by means of a constant mesh 5-speed gearbox. Before rejoicing with the expectation that these bikes could make it to India, let us inform you that the duo is only for Japan. Japan has a lenient tax structure for bikes with small displacement engines and the VTR twins cater exactly to that segment. While the 2013 VTR250 is not path breaking by any means, it has adequate power and rugged looks that speak for it. The VTR250F is a semi faired motorcycle while the VTR250 is a naked bike which reminds us of the Ducati Monster. The VTR250 gets an old school instrument panel with analog speedometer and tachometer but gets digital trip computer and odometer. The VTR250F comes with analog tachometer while the rest of the dashboard is digital. The twins, especially the VTR250 seems to have potential in India but alas, Honda won’t bring these Japan-only bikes here. [Source: Autoevolution.com ]
