Upcoming Yamaha 250cc bike to spawn a street fighter variant?

The 250cc bike segment is the talk of the motown not only here in India but also in the southeast Asian nations. Bikes in the 250cc segment are sporty yet versatile, and stylish yet (relatively) inexpensive to maintain. No wonder they are turning out to be highly sort after products in the emerging markets which still see bikes as a commuting tool. According to OkeZone’s sources, Yamaha’s upcoming 250cc warrior would also spawn a naked version to lure customers from countries like Indonesia and Thailand. A street fighter with a comfortable riding position is a lucrative choice for those markets and Yamaha seems to cash in on that with the fairing-less version of the bike. The original version of the motorcycle is expected with a bag full of Yamaha’s race winning pedigree. A fully faired track-bred model would be the YZF-R15’s big brother with all current 250cc motorcycles in sight. Speaking to the Indonesian media, Mr. Dyonisius Beti, Executive Vice President of Yamaha Indonesia Motor Manufacturing confirmed that Yamaha is developing a 250cc bike. He however declined to give a time frame for its launch. India Yamaha’s Mr. Masaki Asano has told Indian Motos Blog that a 250cc motorcycle will not be coming to India this year. This could also suggest that the bike is a while away from its world debut.
