Current situation in Indian automobile market suggests that car manufacturers all across the globe are eyeing on India as perfect spot for expanding their market. With Indian economy being an emerging one, global as well as local car makers want to acquire good share for its products. Keeping this idea in mind, big players like Ford, Nissan and Volkswagen are planning to launch their sedan cars in India. As per sources, the global car company which is expected to launch its product in India within couple of weeks is American automaker Ford. Expected to make re-entry with new version of old Ford Fiesta in July, Ford India is in no mood of compromise at any cost. With Ford India working hard in publicizing new Ford Fiesta 2011, the car is expected to create same charisma as delivered by its forerunner. Built specifically for Indian consumers, Ford India recently revealed a set of specifications which will be added in the Indian version of Ford Fiesta. The new Ford price is yet not been disclosed by the company, but this Ford Fiesta sedan is expected to be adorned with a price tag above its successor Ford Fiesta Classic. Another global car maker which is standing in-line after Ford is the Japanese multinational car maker Nissan. Nissan is expected to launch its newest invent Nissan Sunny sedan car in September this year. The V-platform sedan car will be launched in both diesel and petrol variants, owing to the increasing demand of diesel cars in India. Nissan Sunny is expected to offer tough competition to other cars already present in the entry level sedan segment like Honda City, Maruti SX4, Ford Fiesta and Fiat Linea. With Nissan Sunny price being speculated as Rs. 6.8 lakh, the car is going to create good market share for the Japanese Motor company. It is worth mentioning that Indian car market is going to witness large number of sedan cars entering in between the months of August-October and Volkswagen is also going to join the bandwagon with its sedan car Volkswagen Jetta. German car maker Volkswagen is expected to launch the refurbished 2011 Volkswagen Jetta in August, 2011. It is worth mentioning that sales figures of Volkswagen’s another invent Volkswagen Vento recently surpassed Korean car maker’s Honda City. With company eyeing on creating same form, 2011 Volkswagen Jetta price is still un-wrapped by the company.Now, with three big names competing in India car market with their upcoming cars, the winning criteria will depend on three main points i.e. price, mileage and comfort.

After completing the acquisition of Ssangyong Motors, Mahindra&Mahindra is all set to make its next big move. If ICB is to be believed, the Global SUV (codenamed W201) is will make its debut in May 2011. Sources confirm that employees from various M&M dealerships are being sent to Mahindra factory to be trained for the Global SUV. Hence, we can safely assume that the launch is very close. Mahindra W201 spotted yet again

An anonymous reader sent us this spyshot of the Mahindra W201 testing in Ooty, a popular hill station in Tamil Nadu. The car’s being driven in all kinds of terrains and conditions over the last couple of years to ensure nothing is left to chance. The W201 will be Mahindra’s first vehicle to employ unibody construction. The vehicle spied looks production ready. According to the company the W201 will sail into the market by the end of 2011. The festive period is a good time to launch an ambitious vehicle. The prices could be around 15-18 lakh rupees. All kinds of features will be offered on the W201, as we discussed previously. Mahindra could take the W201 (a.k.a Global SUV) to overseas markets like South Africa. With access to Ssangyong’s dealer network possible after the acquisition, the Global SUV can reach far and wide outside India. Under the hood we’re expecting the 2.2-liter CRDI mHawk engine churning out more than 150bhp power and 320Nm torque.
